We now begin the very tough Top 20 songs released in 1984 with the first major controversy of the countdown. My wife felt that Christmas songs are seasonal and thus should not be considered in these countdowns. My argument, for this track, is that it is considered one of the best new Christmas songs of the last 40 years, and hit number 1 in the UK 3 years ago, and my kids love it.
