After shaking up the world with a classic that made the 1991 countdown, this song became just as much a huge hit and is still heard in various contexts to this day.  The video also featured Eddie Murphy, Iman, and Magic Johnson.  The King of Pop shows up again, this time at #9 in this countdown with Remember the Time by Michael Jackson.

While this duo is known for a lot of classic hits, this song is a major fixture of my childhood.  These guys showed that they were not done churning out incredible classics.  It’s one of their best songs, has an incredible chorus, and has a classic title to boot.  What more can you ask for?  Coming in at #9 is Maneater by Daryl Hall & John Oates.

As everybody should know now, I have always been a 38 Special fan.  We begin the top 1982 songs countdown with year another one from this group, but this one is actually a song my wife likes and thinks is better than the song on the 1981 countdown.  This tune shows you can do a love song and have it still rock.  We kick off the top 10 of this countdown with this rock classic at #10 – Caught Up In You by 38 Special.

We kick off the countdown of the top 10 songs turning thirty years old with a hip hop classic that became an ultimate sing along.  Like a lot of other songs on prior countdowns, this song is still heard at sporting events and clubs around the world, proving sometimes you just need a catchy sound and arm motion to have a hit.  At #10 in this countdown is Hip Hop Hooray by Naughty By Nature.

This song has remained under the radar for years, and when it arrives, it immediately invokes memories of the early 90s and of this artist.  It also invokes memories of snow in June, hehe.  We wrap up the bottom half of the top 20 songs of 1992 with this #11 track, ironically titled Saved The Best For Last, by Vanessa Williams.

So many songs are synonymous with this artist, but this one almost always is heard or referenced.  The track was sampled by Warren G (gaining new life and notoriety as a result), and remains as fresh today as it was back in 1982.  Amazingly this song is 40 years old, and is the top song in the bottom half of this countdown.  It’s I Keep Forgettin’ by Michael McDonald.
